EU calls for sticking to nuclear diplomacy with Iran


The rotating meeting of the United Nations Security Council regarding the implementation of Resolution 2231 and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action known as JCPOA was held while the participants in this meeting emphasized on nuclear diplomacy with Iran.

The representative of the European Union pointed to the “negative consequences” of the US sanctions after withdrawing from the JCPOA, and acknowledged that these sanctions have not hindered Iran’s progress.

The EU representative also called for the revival of nuclear diplomacy and opposed the arms deal between Russia and Iran due to the war in Ukraine.
