US President Donald Trump has described preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons as one of the major achievements of his administration, claiming that Tehran would have already used such weapons had Washington not intervened. Speaking to the media, Trump said the decision required courage, adding that no previous US President has been willing to take similar action. His remarks came a day after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused Washington of using Tehran’s nuclear programme as a pretext for opposing Iran’s regional policies.
