In the most recent attack on law enforcement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a police vehicle in Peshawar’s Badaber was attacked, due to which one policeman embraced martyrdom and two others received injuries.

After the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke its truce with Islamabad, a number of terror attacks occurred in the bordering province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Moreover, other terrorist organizations also increased their attacks.

Constable Yar Muhammad suffered critical injuries along with two other policemen when unidentified armed men attacked their van. Muhammad succumbed to his wounds during treatment.

The attack has not been claimed by any organization.

On July 21, there were at least four terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within a 48-hour period, including one in the capital city of Peshawar, which caused law enforcement officials to lose their lives and injured others.

A week later, after being shot at and having a hand grenade thrown at them, law enforcement officers were ambushed at a checkpoint.

The assailant was blocked from leaving by the counteraction of the police and FC officials. Thankfully, there were no casualties reported from the terrorist incident.

With a considerable increase in assaults in July due to terrorism rearing its ugly head once again in the country, it became the second deadliest month of 2023 with 124 fatalities and 218 injuries.

In addition, the preceding month had the most suicide attacks in a single month of the current year, with five such incidents tragically resulting in the deaths of 69 individuals and the injuries of 175 more.

A large number of people were killed in a suicide bombing that took place during a JUI-F election rally in the KP district of Bajaur.

Pakistan’s government has cautioned Afghanistan against offering safe havens to the TTP, a terrorist group that targets security personnel, in view of the escalating militancy.

According to the senior brass of the Pakistani Army, one of the main factors affecting Pakistan’s security is the sanctuary and freedom of action enjoyed by terrorists from the TTP and other banned organizations in Afghanistan.
