In Badminton, India’s Tanvi Sharma, Ashmita Chaliha and Rakshitha Ramraj have progressed to the Women singles quarterfinals at the Korea Masters in Asan. Tanvi continued her impressive run by defeating her compatriot Shriyanshi Valishetty 21-16, 17-21, 21-13 in the pre-quarterfinals. Ashmita beat home favourite Kim Min-ji 21-17, 21-6, while Rakshitha defeated Japan’s Manami Suizu 22-20, 21-10. However, Anmol Kharb’s, Isharani Baruah’s and Mansi Singh’s Korea Masters campaign came to an end in the pre-quarterfinals.
In the men’s doubles pre-quarterfinals, the Indian duo of Prithvi Krishnamurthy Roy and Krishna Prasad Garaga defeated a South Korean pair to secure a place in the quarterfinals. All eyes will now be on tomorrow’s women’s singles and men’s doubles quarterfinal matches.
