Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today underscored the significance of advanced lithography technology for India’s emerging semiconductor industry. Talking to the media, Mr Vaishnaw said that during his visit to the Netherlands, he aims to understand advanced technologies related to lithography. He said that India’s upcoming semiconductor fabrication facility in Dholera, Gujarat, will be using equipment from Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography Company, which is the world’s leading provider of lithographic tools.
Mr Vaishnaw noted that several global equipment manufacturers are now considering establishing a base in India, driven by the country’s strong design capabilities and skilled talent pool. Emphasising the nation’s growing role in the semiconductor ecosystem, the Minister said that such engagements would accelerate India’s goal in high-tech manufacturing and innovation.
