In Women’s cricket, India thrashed Sri Lanka to win first ever gold medal in the final in Asian Games 2026 at the Aichi Prefectural Korogi Sports Park, Japan. Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 69 in 15.4 overs, as India completed a comprehensive victory by 147 runs.
Batting first, India posted a commanding 216 for 3 in 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana top-scored with 79 runs, while Richa Ghosh remained unbeaten on 49. Mandhana also became the first woman cricketer to complete 11,000 international runs during the innings.
