Eleven Fishermen from Nagapattinam were attacked near Kodikkarai by sea pirates from Srilanka today. The fishermen were attacked with sickles and country bombs, and their catch was taken away from them. The wounded fishermen were admitted to Government hospitals after reaching shore. The pirates had assaulted them and taken away GPS machines, fishing nets, a walkie-talkie, the gold chains and the engines of the fibre boats.
