Jaish-e-Mohammed is set to organise a seven-day “Tarbiyah” (training) camp in Mirpur, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), starting January 1, once again exposing how Pakistan has turned PoK into a full-fledged terror hub. The development, confirmed by security sources, highlights the systematic revival and expansion of terrorist infrastructure under the protection of the Pakistani establishment.
The terror group, founded by UN-designated terrorist Masood Azhar, is also holding public rallies in Garhi Habibullah and Balakot to mobilise support. Alarmingly, these gatherings are witnessing the presence of young children, many of whom are being indoctrinated and recruited into the terror network at an early age.
Alongside Jaish, Lashkar-e-Taiba has reactivated its operations in PoK, including the mobilisation of its women’s wing. Sources reveal that Lashkar is conducting recruitment camps attended by senior operatives Abdul Rauf, Rizwan Hanif, and Abu Musa. These efforts underline Pakistan’s continued use of terror groups as strategic assets, despite international scrutiny.
Both Jaish and Lashkar are also reconstructing training camps in Pakistan and PoK that were damaged during India’s military response under Operation Sindoor, launched after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, mostly tourists. Lashkar has additionally activated a camp named “Jihad-e-Aqsa” in the Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, further expanding the terror ecosystem.
Jaish-e-Mohammed has also intensified radicalisation through digital means. It has launched an online training course, “Tufat al-Muminat,” aimed particularly at women, and is collecting funds through online channels. The group has reportedly initiated a programme called “Dukhtaran-e-Islam” in Rawalkot to recruit women for suicide missions, attempting to model a female brigade similar to those used by ISIS and Hamas.
Masood Azhar’s sisters, Sadiya Azhar and Samaira Azhar, are said to be delivering daily indoctrination sessions.
Taken together, these developments make it clear that PoK is no longer just a disputed territory but a protected sanctuary for terrorism. With training camps, recruitment rallies, online radicalisation, and the rebuilding of terror infrastructure, Pakistan has effectively transformed PoK into a launchpad for cross-border terrorism. Indian security agencies remain on high alert, closely monitoring these activities to prevent future attacks, but the message is unmistakable: Pakistan continues to nurture terror hubs instead of dismantling them.
