US billionaire and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has called the acts of vandalism against his electric car maker Tesla “terrorism.”

“There is no doubt that shooting bullets into Tesla stores and burning down Superchargers are acts of terrorism,” Musk said on X.

On Monday, US media reported, citing police, that several “incendiary” devices were found at a Tesla dealership in the city of Austin in Texas. The devices were reportedly safely removed by police without any incident.

In recent weeks, multiple Tesla vehicles have been targeted in at least 13 states across the United States, according to media reports.

Last week, Attorney General Pamela Bondi described the attacks as nothing less than domestic terrorism, highlighting that the Justice Department has already filed charges against several individuals, who could face prison sentences of up to five years. On Friday, US President Donald Trump suggested sending individuals responsible for acts of vandalism against Tesla vehicles and dealerships to prisons in El Salvador.
