In IPL Cricket, the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 80 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Chasing a victory target of 201 runs set by Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad were all out for 120 runs in 16.4 overs. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, three top order batsmen–Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan got out in quick succession with a paltry score of 8 runs. Heinrich Klaasen was the highest scorer for Hyderabad with 33 runs. For Kolkata, Vaibhav Arora took 3 wickets.
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to field. Put to bat, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 200 for 6 in the stipulated 20 overs. Venkatesh Iyer was the highest scorer with 60 runs, followed by Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who made 50 runs. Vaibhav Arora was declared the Player of the match.
