The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to part ways with assistant coach Abhishek Nayar and two other coaching staff members, in a major shakeup following India’s disappointing performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The BCCI has also relieved Fielding Coach T Dilip and Trainer Soham of their duties, as the governing body had previously hinted at a review of personnel who have completed a three-year tenure with the national team.
This decision comes amidst a series of poor results for the Indian cricket team, particularly after their defeats in the Test series against New Zealand and Australia last year.
