The Japanese-style animation, Comics and digital vertical storytelling contest will be held at VVN degree college in Bengaluru today. The Media and Entertainment Association of India (MEAI) has organised the contest as part of the WAVES initiatives.
WAVES Anime and Manga contest is India’s first national platform to discover and promote Indian IPs across five dynamic categories of Japanese style animation, Comics, digital vertical storytelling webtoons, costume performance of original characters, and voice acting. Over 121 contestants have registered for the state level qualifier.
The finalists will have an opportunity to contest at the all-India level contest to be held in Mumbai under the banner of WAVES challenges. The winners will earn an all-expense-paid trip to Anime Japan 2026 to be held in Tokyo, representing India on the World’s biggest anime stage.
