As the conflict between Myanmar’s ruling junta and rebel forces intensifies, China has launched a military drill near its border with Myanmar to ensure security and stability.

The fighting has spilled over into Chinese territory, injuring civilians, damaging property, and threatening infrastructure projects.

Two weeks ago, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Myanmar, urging its military leadership to negotiate a ceasefire with the rebels.

However, Myanmar’s military chief, Min Aung Hlaing, indirectly accused “certain foreign countries” of arming the rebels — a statement that drew a strong objection from Beijing.
