As part of International Women’s Day celebrations, the High Commission of India in Bangladesh organized a cultural programme for the members of the mission community and the Indian diaspora in Dhaka. The theme of the event was ‘Stronger Her, Healthier Future.’. Organised by the High Commission and Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, the session sought to foster empowerment, confidence, and resilience in women and girls.
At the start of the programme, High Commissioner Pranay Verma welcomed the participants to the International Women’s Day event and wished them great success.
The fashion show depicting unity in the diversities of India was a special attraction of the event in which women of diverse age groups showcased traditional attire from every state of the country.
On the occasion, a yoga team led by an expert teacher demonstrated various yoga asanas for working women to keep them fit and healthy and boost their confidence. The medical team of Unico Hospital, Dhaka, gave a demonstration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to raise awareness about heart-related issues.
